Radio ID tags to identify products or persons

The wireless Newsteo TAG ID system is used to mark goods or people and thus to identify them by radio frequency, up to several hundred meters.
Functioning is very simple: the person or the good is equipped with a self-powered TAG. This one communicates by radio its ID to a MARKER. The marker is then able to transmit by radio to a monitoring computer the identity of goods or persons around. Communication can also be done via GPRS.
Contrary to passive RFID Tags that require a “heavy” reception infrastructure, the Newsteo active RFID Tag solution allows high ranges with a very light infrastructure: a small whip antenna of less than 20 centimetres on the MARKER and an integrated antenna of 1 cm² on the TAG.

The products are customized according to the mode of attachment and context of use. Electronics, with its battery, is moulded in a completely sealed box. NEWSTEO can customize it according to the attachment points desired by the customer.

Localisation

This same solution can also be completed by a localisation system:
- Outside, the TAG can be equipped with a GPS module that allows the transmission of GPS coordinates of the place where the good is
- Inside, multiple Markers can be placed in order to build a meshing of the building and so to know where the TAG is with 5 to 10 meters precision

Evaluation kit

Newsteo ID Kit
With this kit, it is possible to communicate by radio with 3 miniature Newsteo TAGs through the RF Monitor software installed on PC.
It is made of:
- 3 TAGs without casing and with battery support. Delivered with standard CR2450 batteries.
- 1 RF-to-USB Key that, connected to a PC, serves as a marker: TAGS seen by the key are displayed via provided software on the PC.
- 1 CD-ROM with the RF Monitor Software
