    Radio ID (active RFID)

Newsteo proposes a solution based on active RFID technology. The radio ID, or RFID tag, is used to mark goods or people and thus to identify them by radio frequency, up to several hundred meters. Newsteo offers solutions to integrators able to adapt and use them in the end customers system and business. The mechanical parts, power supply, radio range may be adapted by Newsteo depending on customer’s constraints.

    Functionning

Functioning is very simple: the person or the good is equipped with a self-powered TAG. This one communicates by radio its ID to a MARKER. The marker is then able to transmit by radio to a monitoring computer the identity of goods or persons around. Communication can also be done via GPRS.

Contrary to passive RFID Tags that require a “heavy” reception infrastructure, the Newsteo active RFID Tag solution allows high ranges with a very light infrastructure: a small whip antenna of less than 20 centimetres on the MARKER and an integrated antenna of 1 cm² on the TAG.

    Localisation

This same solution can also be completed by a localisation system:

Outside, the TAG can be equipped with a GPS module that allows the transmission of GPS coordinates of the place where the good is.
Also, multiple Markers can be placed whether inside or outside a building, in order to know where the TAG is, as well as its hourly or daily path…
