No, Newsteo only sells its solutions to professional companies: mainly OEM customers who need to replace a wired link by a wireless link in their application (installers, sensor manufacturers...).
Newsteo's products are distributed through representatives, distributors, agents...
Yes, we are strongly committed to support our customers in the development and deployment of their wireless solutions. Our support team is available 5 days out of 7 by phone.
No, Newsteo only provides its enhanced RF technology to ensure the RF bridge between one or multiple sensors (up to 500 sensors simultaneously) and another sensor or a supervisor (i.e.; RF Monitor on a PC).
Using the wireless technology enables to work in a well-ordered environment in order to be more efficient. But, the main advantage is the savings you can make : it allows reducing time and labour costs (installation and maintenance) and also material (cables). In some applications, the wiring costs can be more than 10 times higher than peripherals costs.
No, industrial companies which choose wireless technology have a well-ordered work environment and an efficient data transfer (a cable which burns can destroy all the installation). Peripherals allow an easier reorganization because of their mobility.
The Newsteo products communicate on the ISM 868 MHz bands. The ISM bands (industrial, scientific, and medical) are frequencies which can be used freely for industrial, scientist and medical applications in Europe. The Newsteo technology enables a high range of communication with a high autonomy.
Yes, Newsteo technology was developed and elaborated for industrial environments which are very harsh for electronic components in terms of robustness, vibrations resistance, variations in temperature and variations in humidity.
Thanks to its wide products range, particularly the LGS range, the Newsteo solutions can interface any kind of sensor. Thus, the customer has no development work to do to connect its sensor to Newsteo products.
Yes, we can provide an additional encryption layer for Privacy or Security (based on signals transmission scrambling) when it is required. Please contact us for more details (NDA engagement conditions).
These protocols differ from their technical features and their applications.
For example, informatics networks involve a high volume and a high rate of data transfer. In this case, Bluetooth and Wifi networks are massively used for these applications but they require the main current because of their high level of consumption.
On the contrary, industrial applications like reporting of data sensors require a low rate of data transfer, but a high level of reliability. So, communicating on the ISM 868 MHz bands ensure an efficient data transfer and is adapted for applications which require a low rate of data transfer: it ensures a better reliability and a complete freedom.
The wireless technology of Newsteo is intended to all the industrial companies wishing to convert their own sensors into wireless sensors. Thus, industrial companies choose a reliable and professional environment by creating a network of wireless sensors.
No, there’s a slight attenuation but signal goes thru trees or human bodies. Natural denser obstacles, like rocks or mountains, strongly attenuate the signals.
Our solution is effecient even inside a building. Featured with an 1/4 wavelength antenna, the radio waves can pass through up to 5 walls. If this is not enough, it's possible to install a Newsteo Repeater, which is a radio relay able to increase tenfold the system range.
With built-in small antenna model, up to 50m can be reached.
With additional ¼ wave antenna model, up to 800m can be reached.
With other antennas, we can have several kilometers of range (see Antennas).
Yes, our telemeters always come with a removable lithium battery that can last up to 5 years depending on the conditions of use and the embedded sensor(s).
No, basically, the power consumption is dependant on several programmable parameters: measurement reporting frequency, emission power range selection.
Our RF Monitor collects all the products informations, and of course, low battery level information is received and displayed. A visual or audible alert is even set if programmed.
As long as a software runs on Windows® platform, there’s always a risk of unexpected interoperability effects between software’s running in parallel from different manufacturers.
Even if Newsteo pays a lot of attention to the validation of its software’s on several kind of different machines, and even if Newsteo software’s have been working for several years on thousands of PCs all over the world now,
Newsteo always strongly recommend to run its software’s (RF Monitor, DB Monitor…) on a dedicated PC.
This is to avoid interoperability, OS updates, Drivers updates, Antivirus or Antispam, firewalls potential unwanted effects.
Today, the cost of a PC is around 500 EUR, that is “nothing” to limit the risks at the minimum and ensure the highest security level for your monitoring application.
